The recently open-sourced Symbian operating system provides an interesting new perspective to mobile open source. With a market share of over 40% of smartphones, and three powerful companies, it is extremely common as we write.

My talk would be optimized for the time given; it would cover the basics of the OS architecture, future roadmap and give a head-start into development.

I have been developing Symbian applications for over a year, and have held multiple talks in the past on similar topics.
